November 23, 2005 State Report: "Virginia not Prepared for Aging Population"
The Virginia legislature's investigative arm released a report indicating that Virginia is not prepared for the doubling of its senior population that will occur between now and 2030. The shortage of both government resources as well as private service providers will mean that seniors will need to be more proactive in planning their retirement and in their care.

September 13, 2005, DC Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
Living Solutions made a presentation to DC Long Term Care Ombudsman Program on Tuesday, September 13. Housed within the Legal Counsel for the Elderly program of the AARP, the Ombudsman Program is responsible for investigating complaints about the quality of long term care for seniors living in Washington, DC. Dr. Tulenko presented on how to recognize unsafe living environments (poor lighting, fall hazards, etc) in public, private, and home-based long term care. NAHB administers the Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS) program which is recognized as the highest standard of aging in place home modification training and is recommended by the US government Administration on Aging and by the AARP.
